wrote this maybe 2 years ago (?) but never used it for anything. however the hunt for letters allowed this one to resurface, rescued from its context and the graveyard of my phone's note app. it now stands alone as its own story. or at least, it did. until i wrote "You Can Call It That", which appears as the last track on this EP, which basically inverts everything meaningful in this song and reduces it to a cruel joke. but that's why they call it the blues or whatever
